As an incoming freshman pirate at East Carolina University in fall 2009, I hope for several things during my first year in college. To begin, I would like to maintain a challenging course schedule much like the advanced placement classes I took in high school. In these classes, like anyone, I hope to earn a satisfactory grade, like an A or B. Also, I hope I will be able to take classes which will lead me down a path in which I can accomplish my goals of becoming a pediatric nurse or physician’s assistant.

As for extracurricular activities, I would definitely like to continue my involvement with HOSA. This involvement will lead me to other areas of community service with organizations such as Autism Speaks and the Make A Wish Foundation. I have also considered returning to Student Government, where I wish to take on a small role. I know that as a freshman, I will have some adjusting to do and I believe that these activities will help me with that.

Lastly, I would like to thank the Bridge Foundation for this amazing opportunity. Without this support, affording a great college education like the one I will receive at ECU would be a challenge. I am excited and proud to be able to represent Charlotte and the Bridge Foundation during this new experience.

Thank You
