Ashley Peterson

2011 Bridge Foundation Scholarship Recipient

Being a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is probably one of the best experiences of my life. I am surrounded by many intelligent people, wonderful professors, and an amazing campus. If it were not for the help from The Bridge Foundation and their contribution to my college fund, my experience thus far would not be what it is now.

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Biology has always been my passion since the 9th grade, but I knew that it was the major for me after my third year of biology in my senior year of high school. I am taking many science classes this semester such as chemistry, geology, and anthropology which are all very challenging, but are all very interesting and tie into what I would like to do in the future. As for my career, I plan to go to medical school and become a clinical pathologist. My ultimate dream is to work for the Centers for Disease Control or the Nation Institutes of Health where I can help find cures for diseases around the world.

I would like to thank The Bridge Foundation for their support. I am honored to be the 2011 Bridge Foundation Scholarship recipient and I will never forget the impact this scholarship has had on my educational journey.
